Soundwave 3D
I was playing with Away3D again. This time we have a audio visual mix. A dot grid of simple sprites are given XYZ co-ords. X represents time, Z represents stereo and Y amplitude. Amplitude decays over time to zero.
The project uses Away3D’s billboard object in a mesh. The render can handle around 1000 points. Z sorting isn’t needed. I’m sure I could squeeze more speed from this.
The music is a free track from Freshbax, I hope it doesn’t offend your ears too much.
Possible extensions include splitting the grid into Low, mid and High freqs by color and asĀ plugin for the JWPlayer.
